David Beckham brand condoms have taken China by storm. Well, Beckham hasn’t personally endorsed the product, but that hasn’t stopped the condom company from using his name, and in the process, becoming the #1 contraceptive seller across China. I haven’t been able to locate the name of the company, but their marketing and advertising department is genius.
I just hope they have some quality control at the manufacturing plants that produce the rubbers. China likes bulk, and having even a few “defective” products might lead to some problems in this particular market.
The Chinese government must be ecstatic that these condoms have been a hit. For years, they have been trying to slow down population growth in the country. So that means Beckham, at least indirectly, is a Communist.
I know Beckham is one of the most recognized athletes on the planet, but you’d think the Asian folks would be inclined to buy a condom named after Shaq or someone else who is, shall we say, stereotypically a little more well equipped. Beckham has always stuck me as the “baby” dick type, so maybe I’m just being biased.
I’d insert the “Asian guys have small wangs” joke here, but I’m tired, and well, it’s too easy, so I’m going to bed.
